Helena Fruscio is the Director for Berkshire Creative Economy Council (Berkshire Creative). She has evolved the position from Internship in summer 2007 in the fledging organization (Berkshire Creative didn’t even have an email!), to the paid position of Program Coordinator in late 2007, to the Director of Operations in 2008, to finally leading the organization as she does today.
Ms. Fruscio is responsible for the development and maintenance of all aspects of Berkshire Creative including all programs, initiatives, and partnerships that were executed, created and foraged under her direct actions and/or supervision. These programs have reached thousands of creative businesses across the Berkshire County over the past three years.
In 2008, Ms. Fruscio was appointed to the Massachusetts Creative Economy Council and to the Economic Development Planning Council by Governor Deval Patrick. She is the Chair of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, Fine and Performing Arts Award, she sits on the Mass Creative Implementation Team, Berkshire Navigation-Berkshire Data Collection Steering committee, Berkshire County’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee, Berkshire Blueprint Steering Committee, and is a steering committee member of the Berkshire Young Professionals.
Ms. Fruscio has been called upon to speak at the Americans for the Arts Annual Convention, New England Foundation for the Arts', Connecting Creative Communities Conference, Central Massachusetts Creative Economy Collaborations Session, and Merrimack Valley Creative Economy Kick-off Event. Helena Fruscio matriculated at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), School of Imaging Arts and Sciences. At RIT, Ms. Fruscio received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ceramic Sculpture, with a concentration in Anthropology/Sociology.
