Mary Eileen Fouratt is the Executive Director of Monmouth Arts where she has worked for nearly two decades. Fouratt has a B.A. in History from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.A. in Museum Leadership from Bank Street College of Education. Her tenure has seen unprecedented growth for Monmouth Arts, including the development of the award-winning Monmouth County Arts Plan, “Envision, Imagine, Create;” the MoCo Arts Corridor, a creative placemaking initiative; and ArtHelps, Monmouth Arts’ response to Hurricane Sandy to bring the healing power of the arts to communities in Monmouth and Ocean County. Monmouth Arts has received a Citation of Excellence from the NJ State Council on the Arts from 2006-2017. Fouratt has been involved in municipal, county and regional arts, community, and economic development planning initiatives; including the Monmouth County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, the County Master Plan update, the Coastal and Bayshore Redevelopment Plans, and Together North Jersey. Fouratt is currently the President of the ArtPride NJ Board and on the Board of Red Bank RiverCenter. She was appointed to the Gateway National Park Fort Hancock 21st Century Advisory Committee in 2012. She is past Chair and a founding member of the Red Bank Visitors Center and Past President of the Association of New Jersey Cultural & Historic Agencies. Fouratt is a 2001 alumnus of Leadership Shore and a 2005 graduate of Leadership NJ, and she received the Count Basie Theatre’s inaugural Vanguard Award honoring lifelong devotion to the arts in 2014.
