June Rogers, Executive Director of Fairbanks Arts Association since 1996, has worked with FAA in many capacities since 1981, volunteering on the Educational Projects Committee and serving on the Board as Treasurer and President.
The Fairbanks arts scene provides challenging and rewarding paths: “I've danced and sung in light opera productions, coordinated operations for a professional theatre company, enjoyed a career in singing and currently direct the operations of the Fairbanks Arts Association. FAA is arts central for the Interior and has been recognized by a governor's award for Dedication and Commitment to Excellence in the Arts.”
Prior to her work in the arts, she was an owner of a mechanical contracting company for 15 years. The arts have profited from her background in business: She helped establish the “Business and the Arts Committee” with the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce – the first such committee in the state and she continues to chair the committee.
