National Arts Marketing Project Conference opening keynote speaker, Scott Stratten, told the more than 500 attendees of NAMPC about his problems with using QR codes:
Do you agree with Scott's assessment? Have you seen any awesome examples of QR code usage?

I am a visual artist developing a site specific performance piece. Curious about the long reach of ideas through social media I have attached QR code tags to 5 readymade bundles that will be in a gallery show in December. The bundles are industrial bags used to transport dry foodstuffs and landscaping materials. I wear them as 'costumes' in my performances. The QR code will link to the 1 min. film of the otherwise private performance. I have also just (today) started a twitter to convey future performance times and venues.
I hope to have my updated website live by that time. Whew!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, as always, Beth.
But every time a QR code is use productively, a puppy is born! Very funny clip.
I agree with him that you need to think through how you use new technology and not get seduced by shiny objects. To answer your question, here's some examples of thoughtful use of QR codes

I agree - don't just use new technology because it is cool - be strategic and think it through. Great message, hilarious delivery.
