Ms. Ann Marie Watson
Ann Marie joined Americans for the Arts in June 2016. As Senior Manager, Digital Communications Strategy, she directs social media strategy and content for @americans4arts accounts and serves as the managing editor of ARTSblog. Previously, she was Marketing Communications Manager at the Newseum, a museum dedicated to the First Amendment, where she managed the organization’s social media, email marketing, and other online communications. From 1999 to 2007, Ann Marie worked at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, where she began as an intern and rose to oversee the theater’s brand identity and art direct original illustrations for each season’s slate of productions. She was recognized by the Society of Illustrators as the art director for Sterling Hundley’s gold medal winning illustration of Arena’s 2008 production of “Death of a Salesman.” Ann Marie volunteers in community theater where she has produced nine musicals and plays and advised on marketing and publicity. She is an enthusiastic blood donor and encourages all who are eligible to give! Ann Marie is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s Echols Scholars program with a B.A. in history and a minor in Spanish.
