Thursday, October 6, is Give the Arts Day! Americans for the Arts is celebrating your support during National Arts and Humanities Month by bringing together arts supporters from all over the country during these 24 hours to show the wide reach and strength of the arts.

As a lifelong musician and arts lover, I have seen firsthand the power of the arts in my community. As a kid in school, the arts were a way to make friends, build my communication and team-working skills, and have a lot of fun during and after school. As an adult, the arts provide me with an outlet of expression and a way to connect with family and friends, both near and far. I give to the arts, and I hope that you do, too.

Give The Arts Day is a 24-hour giving campaign to bring together arts supporters from all over the country, who support the arts in their communities every day. Help us by supporting Americans for the Arts this Thursday, so that Americans for the Arts can continue to support you every day of the year. Every donation makes a difference—Americans for the Arts will use all of the funds raised on October 6 to advance the arts and arts education through research, advocacy, and connecting arts leaders across the nation.

This means that Americans for the Arts continues to do the research to prove that the arts and arts education make our communities stronger, and makes available the tools to talk about it with decision-makers in your community. We work hard to bring people together in communities across the country throughout the year by amplifying the voices of arts leaders, educators, and advocates.

So on Thursday, October 6, I ask that you join me and arts supporters from all over the country to #GiveTheArts to our families, friends, children, and neighbors, to build stronger communities for a more beautiful future.
