The countdown has begun! We are only 6 weeks away from the 2010 National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP) Conference: New Tech. New Tools. New Times. What better way to kick off a meeting about marketing, technology, and the new economic reality than with an online discussion with you and 12 top marketing practitioners and consultants in the field!  Join us on ARTSblog for a dialogue on the broad landscape of arts marketing, social media, and audience engagement.

From October 5-12, join us as we wrestle with and ponder on such questions as:

  • How are you innovatively engaging new audiences?  How does technology play a role in these strategies?
  • How are you responding the rise of the citizen critic and citizen curator?
  • Our cities and towns across the country are diversifying.  How is this changing your audience and how you reach them?
  • How is social media changing how you speak with your audience and what you say?
  • How are you stretching your marketing dollars further? How are smaller budgets and changes in funding streams informing your decision making?

We hope you will visit us in the salon and take a moment to leave a comment, share an opinion, or ask a question.  Then come to San Jose, November 12-15 to continue the conversation in person at the NAMP Conference.

It would be nice if the creative speakers would post links to their creations.
I have a very specific definition of what important creation is, and would hate to contribute even words to what I call bad art.

Where would the human race be, if there were NO THINKERS? Creatives are thinkers, inventors......We need respect in our place in the world. What can we do to have this work for us, the LIVING working artists? How can we help this.....To promote the connection between artists and their communities, enhance The relationship between art and society and reinforce the historical importance art has played in the fabric of civilization.

The public needs to DO something. I have blogged, posted, spoken LIVE, promoted, made videos, etc. ....till I am blue(great color) in the face.

Today....the "i" is for isolation, idiot, illiterate & insipid.

Folks need to go out to SEE art, music, poetry, dance, all of it & MOVE. Movement would be nice.
The public thinks everything should be delivered to them at their fingertips.

Let's get folks out & they will enjoy the bounty of the creative community. What we need is an audience. Thank You.....

I am an art curriculum designer and developer, as well as an art teacher and artist. I work with two online schools, creating, developing, and teaching fine art programs. I am constantly seeking opportunities to work with online schools to develop fine art curriculum. I know that, contrary to what many educators believe, a structured fine art curriculum can be taught to students in an online format. I use technology to demonstrate and communicate with students. Online education should not limit learning in art to art history and aesthetics. Technology allows students to participate in art making.
